Intercultural Knowledge Sharing in MNCs A Glocal and Inclusive Approach in the Digital Age

Dear colleagues, I am very glad to announce the forthcoming publication of the book 'Intercultural knowledge sharing in MNCs. A Glocal and Inclusive Approach in the Digital Age.'(Palgrave MacMillan).

The research book adopts a glocal perspective, proposes a dynamic, complex and multilevel view of organizational cultures and an innovative and inclusive approach, aimed to contribute to a better understanding and management of intercultural dynamics, related to knowledge sharing, from a complex, emic and humanistic perspective.

The key concept of the book is that intercultural knowledge sharing is a strategic process for MNCs and implies the enactment of social, transformational and, at least partially, creative processes. Therefore knowledge sharing, and particularly intercultural knowledge exchange, is also a form of knowledge adaptation/creation.

Intercultural knowledge sharing in MNCs provides an integrated view of the evolution of the research on intercultural knowledge sharing, that takes into account the consequences of "glocalization",  technological innovation and  the evolution of organizational strategies and structures. Moreover, this book is aimed at  providing theoretical and empirical support to a person-centered approach to intercultural knowledge sharing, that puts the human and relational dimension of intercultural encounter at the centre of the debate.

The book, then, proposes a theoretical ground for a better understanding of the dynamics and  limits of digital intercultural exchange, going beyond the naive view of  "open knowledge" and the techno-optimist illusion that the use of digital media could  in itself guarantee  the free flow of information and knowledge, within and across organizational boundaries.

The book aims also to provide some suggestions to improve the quality of intercultural knowledge sharing in MNCs, providing an integrated model, enriched by case studies and practical examples.

    Table of contents:
    Foreword by Prof Nigel Holden.
    1. Introduction
    2. Culture, Glocalization, Complexity
    3. Organizational Knowledge and Intercultural Management
    4. Intercultural Knowledge Sharing in MNCs: Toward a Complex and Dynamic Model
    5. Toward an Integrated and Inclusive Approach to Intercultural Knowledge Sharing
    6. An Integrated Approach to Facilitate Knowledge Sharing among and Beyond Cultural Barriers, Using Social Media
