Hello and Thank You for the Warm Welcome!
My name is Kim Groshek. I am a mom and wife, mom of a 30-year-old daughter.
I am passionate about how we can break-down silos amongst and within organizations and improve communication and social interaction. In addition, I am a Senior Project Manager for an international company and I work at home office. I am on the Board of Directors and regional judge for Enactus, which encourages entrepreneurship, growth and innovation and am on the National Finance Committee through SWE. I take on lofty goals, I am training for my 2nd Ironman.
I am an award-winning artist specializing in conceptual art, graphic canvas and vibrant oil paintings. You can see my paintings and designs in people's homes and at children's librarys. My art has been in the Chicago at the Hairpin and MIAD Gallery's.
I have published several children's books, Bug's Adventure Series, Candace and Jimmy Find Their Rainbow and Nate the Dragon, which was made into a play which traveled with a children's theater in Wisconsin and Illinois in 2014.
I have served as an Assistant Director of DC Fashion Week in Washington D.C. and plan to design my own clothes line someday; I have created sketches and this will show up when it avails.
My mantra is "Reach, stretch and grow and learn from your mistakes, pick yourself up and try again.
The person I admire most is my husband, the person I admire that is no longer living is my grandma and the expert I admire is Albert Einstein.
This month I promised to write a hand-written letter a day to people I know, I don't and those I just met. So, don't be surprised if you see a small note in the SNAIL-MAIL.
In the last year, I've been focusing on organizational problems: inside the organization, people behaviors specific, and outside organizations and people's motivation and capacity to learn, macro and micro-management; in the end, I strive to make a positive difference.
I've dabbling in Phenomenology, and tend to lean toward the Self inquiry based philosophy; self educating with awareness. I design my theories through mind mapping, a technique my colleague Dr. Givan taught me several years ago.
I am very goal oriented, and specific to this track, I have plans to continue to make a mark in academia and research fields focusing on leading workshops and online courses, publishing and continuing to write novels.
Happy to meet you!
That's it for me for now. Looking forward to meeting you and collaborating.

Welcome to the ODC Community Discussion! We're so glad you are here. I hope that this online community will be a valuable resource to all ODC members as you begin to connect, communicate and collaborate with your colleagues in this forum.
When you visit the community for the first time, please take a moment to introduce yourself. It's a great way to practice making your first post to the community! Share your name, where you're from, your research or teaching interests, and why you belong to the ODC division.
I am Julie Smendzuik-O'Brien, a member of the ODC Division since I joined the Academy of Management when I began my doctoral program. After a career as an internal OD practitioner for many years at three Minnesota state government agencies, I undertook and completed a PhD program at Fielding Graduate University in 2017. My dissertation focused on internal OD practitioners whose work contributed to the sustainability efforts of their organizations. The thing I love most about our ODC division is the rich mix of scholars and practitioners focused on making organizations and the world a better place through research and practice in organization change. I look forward to hearing from any of you who have interests similar to mine, especially in organization change for sustainability.
Now it's your turn! Reply to this message now and start getting to know your fellow ODC members.
