    Indiana Tech is a thriving, independent, teaching-oriented institution with a focus on career/professional programs in business, engineering, computer sciences, criminal sciences, education, human services and many other concentrations. Indiana Tech enrolls approximately 1,500 students in its traditional programs on its main campus and over 8,000 students in Professional Studies programs at 15 regional locations and online. Indiana Tech's picturesque main campus is located on 45 acres near downtown Fort Wayne. All academic programs are designed to provide students with relevant and practical experiences, including an emphasis on internships. The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The College of Business programs are accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).
    Program Description
    The Indiana Tech Ph.D. in Global Leadership Program offers professionals an opportunity to advance their ability to lead in today's multifaceted environment and to conduct cross-cultural research to examine interrelationships between culture and organizational leadership.
    The online Ph.D. Program is flexible and accommodates diverse working professionals across the world. The online learning methods require students to progress independently, but not alone. Indiana Tech faculty and support staff are committed to providing an educational environment that is personal and collaborative. Students in the Ph.D. in Global Leadership Program are required to participate in on-campus residency weekends during enrollment. These events are held at the Fort Wayne, IN campus in the spring and fall of each year and require Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening attendance.
    General Summary of Position
    Indiana Tech seeks a dynamic academic leader to serve as the Director of the Ph.D. in Global Leadership Program effective January 1, 2019.
    The Director of the Ph.D. Program is the academic leader for all facets of the Ph. D. Program including admissions processes, course scheduling, curriculum development, faculty recruitment and support, facilitating research opportunities, and arranging doctoral committee assignments. The Director will work with internal and external constituencies to assure both the high academic quality and visibility of the Ph. D. Program. The Director supports the university's quality improvement efforts by focusing on improving the performance of owned processes that have direct or indirect impact on related departmental and/or institutional results.
    In addition to the administrative role, the Director will hold a tenure-track faculty rank position appropriate for the level of teaching and research experience. The Director's role is a 12-month appointment and the Director will teach four online courses per academic year and serve on five doctoral committees each academic year in addition to the Director's duties.
    The Director will provide management and supervision for the Assistant Director of the Ph.D. Program and the Ph.D. Program Administrative Assistant. The Director will provide leadership for the Ph.D. faculty and work collaboratively with the Director of Ph.D. Admissions and the College of Business Chair of Graduate Studies
    Principal Duties and Responsibilities
    • Provide overall leadership for the program
    • Direct residency program
    • Manage admissions process
    • Instruct, advise students and serve on doctoral committees
    • Assign students to faculty advisors and oversee creation of doctoral committees for students
    • Assess student learning and, based on the data analysis and in collaboration with faculty, continuously improve the program
    • Track and monitor student progress
    • Provide accreditation support
    • Recommend and implement procedures in collaboration with graduate faculty
    • Monitor the program curriculum and work collaboratively with faculty on program development
    • Recommend new program considerations
    • Identify strategic partnerships
    • Recruit and provide support for program faculty
    • Collaborate and build consensus with campus resources and the College of Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Business
    • Recommend annual budget to support program
    • Oversee program budget
    • Engage in scholarly activity related to field of specialization
    • Participate in service to the university
    • Represent and promote Indiana Tech
    • Track, monitor, and report on the performance of owned processes that have direct or indirect impact on related departmental and/or institutional results
    • Generate and implement solutions (individually or collectively with other process users) to improve the performance of owned processes
    Working Conditions
    Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

    Qualifications
    • Earned doctorate in Global Leadership or related discipline
    • Minimum of three years of demonstrated excellence in graduate / doctoral level teaching (online environment, preferred) and research / publication record consistent with the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor
    • Successful academic administration and intellectual leadership at the graduate / doctoral level
    • Commitment to recruiting, selecting and mentoring high quality diverse faculty
    • Demonstrated commitment to serving students
    • Ability to direct graduate level research
    • Willingness to develop robust engagement of faculty, staff, students and professionals
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
