    ABSTRACT:
Ten years ago, a group of scholars from several academic disciplines came together in an Academy of Management Conference caucus to explore why strategy, change and project scholars study the problem of how strategies get successfully implemented very differently and if there were some common threads that could bind them. Since then, after asking this simple question and collaborating on many scholarly projects, including writing two books together, the group has moved closer to being able to answer this question. Indeed, we believe we have identified new ways of thinking about management problems, as well as new directions for research, pedagogy and practice that complement already proven methods in the disciplines of strategic management, change management and project management. With this in mind, the panelists will talk about what was learned that was especially thought-provoking from contributing to our latest book. They will do so from the perspective of their own body of discipline-specific research and explain why they believe management scholars are now in a stronger position to study, teach and advise managers about the strategy process in ways never done before.
