Don't miss this timely PDW: Advancing Action Research for Doctoral Students and Early Career Faculty
Friday, July 25, 2025
09:00 - 11:00 CEST (GMT+2)
Location: Bella Center: Hall A- A3-m2
This interactive and experiential PDW brings together doctoral students (both Ph.D. and professional doctoral candidates), early career faculty and experienced faculty to collaboratively strengthen their action research capabilities. Designed as a supportive space for scholar- practitioners, the workshop facilitates exploration of the processes involved in conducting robust action research. Organized as a dynamic "collaborative conversation," the PDW fosters dialogue and reflection around the central question: How can we best support scholar-practitioners at the early stages of their journey in exploring action research as a viable, impactful, and contextually relevant methodological option that remains deeply relevant to their own context and goals? Through interactive discussions and collaborative methods, participants will uncover valuable insights, share effective strategies, and co-create actionable recommendations. These outcomes aim to enhance the rigor, relevance, and overall impact of action research practices in academic and professional contexts. The primary outcome of the PDW will be a set of actionable recommendations for integrating key insights into doctoral curricula and professional development programs. Additionally, participants will gain a deeper understanding of action research principles, establish meaningful connections within the scholar-practitioner action research community, and leave with practical tools to advance their own action research projects.
