    2026 Doctoral Student Consortium

    We are pleased to invite doctoral students with organizational change and development-related research to participate in our 2026 Doctoral Student Consortium. If you are looking for a vibrant and welcoming research community, excellent networking opportunities, and access to great scholars, this is the place for you!


    The consortium will provide opportunities for structured discussion and informal interaction between doctoral students and faculty concerning research, publishing, and career issues. In small group coaching sessions, participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss their dissertation research with faculty members who will give feedback and help further advance participants' work toward successful completion, publishable results, and smooth transitions into their careers. This is a great opportunity to meet prominent scholars in the field from around the world and to network with peers.

    The consortium content and activities are aimed toward doctoral students who are in the dissertation stage of their doctoral degree. However, students at earlier stages are welcome to apply and will be considered if space permits. Lunch is included as part of the consortium. Please find the schedule here


    If your dissertation focuses on any aspect of organization development and change at the individual, group, organizational, and/or field level, you are welcome to apply. Examples of relevant topic areas of dissertation work include, but are not confined to:

    • Organization growth & development

    • Culture change

    • Social movements in organizations

    • Organizational improvisation

    • Organizational learning

    • Responses to change

    • Strategic and institutional change

    Application Materials. Please send the following to Jody Hoffer Gittell (jgittell@brandeis.edu) by Friday May 15:

    • A recommendation letter from your dean, department chair, or major advisor/supervisor that verifies your (a) status/progress and (b) year in your school's doctoral program.

    • A one-page bio summarizing your contact information, research and teaching interests, and publications. 

    • A 3-5 page (double-spaced) summary of your project (can be dissertation research), including the research question, rationale, any hypotheses/propositions, proposed methods, and any results (if applicable). 


    Note. If accepted for the consortium, your one-page bio and summary of your dissertation project will be distributed among consortium faculty and participants in advance of the August session. We are also happy to spotlight your bio and research interests, allowing you to introduce yourself to the ODC members on the Division's website. If you are interested, please indicate this in your application.


    Doctoral students who have insufficient funding from their home institution may be eligible for financial support from the ODC Division. As funding is limited, only a select number of students can be supported. Applicants are asked to justify their request, indicate the amount of funding required, and include this information in their application.
