Dear colleagues and community members,
We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming scholarly webinar featuring Ninna Meier, Aalborg University, who will present methodological insights on using ethnographic approaches to study change over time.
Event Title: Researching Change with Ethnographic Methods: An ODC Webinar
When:
Eastern Standard Time - March 26, 11:00–12:00
Pacific Standard Time - March 26, 08:00–09:00
Central European Time - March 26, 16:00–17:00
About the Event
This 60-minute interactive webinar examines how ethnographic methods can be mobilized to study change as a dynamic and processual phenomenon. Drawing on examples from her extensive research in healthcare organizations, Ninna Meier will present a practice-based approach to qualitative change research. The session addresses a central methodological challenge in ethnography: how to reconcile the open-ended, exploratory nature of ethnographic inquiry with the conceptual rigor required for theorizing change. Participants will be invited to engage in discussion and reflect on how their own research designs may more effectively capture processes of change over time.
Why Attend?
Participants will:
- Develop a deeper understanding of ethnographic approaches to studying change as an ongoing, processual phenomenon
- Examine strategies for balancing methodological openness with conceptual precision in qualitative research
- Gain insight into the interrelationship between change, action, and context, and how these dynamics may be theorized and operationalized ethnographically
- Reflect critically on their own methodological choices in qualitative research
- Engage in scholarly exchange with peers working on qualitative and process-oriented research
Who Should Attend?
This webinar is particularly suited for:
- Qualitative and ethnographic researchers
- Graduate students and early-career scholars
- Academics and practitioners interested in processual and practice-based approaches to studying change
We look forward to your participation in what promises to be a rigorous and engaging discussion.
Warm regards,
Danny van Montfort
