    Dear ODC Division Colleagues,
As the ODC Division embarks on a journey of strategic renewal, I'm reaching out to invite your involvement in an exciting initiative that aligns with our collective goals of fostering rigorous, relevant, and inclusive dialogue.
Building on the momentum of this year's successful Professional Development Workshop (PDW) in Chicago, I am in the process of developing a proposal to organize the next iteration at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Copenhagen, July 25–29, 2025. The proposed PDW, titled "Bridging the Gap: Aligning Academic Insights with Practical Excellence in Organizational Change," is part of a continuous effort to create a platform where academic research meets practical application.
    Why Join the PDW Proposal?
    This workshop aims to:
⁄  Advance the ODC mission: Build on our division's commitment to fostering dynamic, flourishing organizations through impactful collaboration.
⁄  Continue a meaningful dialogue: Leverage the discussions from Chicago to further address real-world challenges at the intersection of research and practice.
⁄  Foster global connections: Provide an opportunity for interdisciplinary partnerships and knowledge-sharing within a diverse, international community.
    The Strategic Alignment
Aligned with the Division's strategic review, this initiative underscores the importance of bridging rigor and relevance, engaging diverse voices, and contributing to the advancement of organizational development and change. It supports our vision of inclusivity and a "big tent" approach by welcoming scholars, practitioners, and executives alike.
    How to Contribute?
As the proposal is under development, I am seeking ODC members who can:
⁄  Share insights or case studies that connect academic and practical perspectives.
⁄  Highlight opportunities for collaboration between research and practice.
⁄  Contribute ideas for enriching the dialogue and ensuring its relevance to real-world challenges.
Your contributions could help shape the workshop's focus and elevate its impact. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an initiative that directly supports our division's vision while fostering meaningful connections across the community.
If you're interested in contributing or have suggestions, please email me at gediminas.baublys@evaf.vu.lt. Let's continue building on the momentum created in Chicago and bring this initiative to life in Copenhagen.
    Warm regards,
    Gediminas Baublys

Dear Gediminas and ODC Division Colleagues,

Thank you for sharing this exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing strategic renewal of the ODC Division. The proposed PDW, "Bridging the Gap: Aligning Academic Insights with Practical Excellence in Organizational Change," aligns deeply with my own work as a scholar-practitioner specializing in organizational development, change, and women's leadership in Latin America.

From my experience consulting with Fortune 500 companies headquartered in Panama-a hub for over 260 global firms-I observe a recurring tension: business leaders prioritize rapid performance delivery yet often lack the time or frameworks to engage in reflective assessments. This push for immediate solutions creates a challenging dynamic for consultants and change agents. As practitioners, we are called to translate academic theories into actionable strategies that address not only operational outcomes but also underlying systemic challenges, such as burnout and disengagement.

In Latin America, where agility often translates into urgency, I have found that successful organizational change hinges on fostering stakeholder connection through shared language and understanding. This aligns with the ODC Division's mission of bridging rigor and relevance, as it underscores the importance of co-creating solutions that are both evidence-based and adaptable to the unique cultural and business contexts of our stakeholders.

    Potential Contributions to the PDW:

    1. Case Studies:
I can contribute insights from my consulting work with senior leaders, highlighting how tailored interventions-rooted in dialogic practices-helped align organizational goals with leadership development and employee engagement. These cases demonstrate the importance of balancing the "push" for performance with the "pull" of sustainable change.

    2. Facilitation Strategies:
I'd be eager to share methods for facilitating common ground in high-pressure environments, leveraging tools like Appreciative Inquiry and participatory design. These strategies have proven effective in aligning diverse stakeholders around shared objectives, even amid competing priorities.

    3. Interactive Session Design:
Drawing from my dual roles as a coach and consultant, I can propose activities that engage participants in exploring the nuances of translating academic insights into practical interventions. For instance, a live simulation of a stakeholder alignment workshop could provide actionable takeaways for participants.

    Strategic Alignment:

This initiative resonates strongly with the ODC Division's goals by emphasizing:

    • Inclusivity: Bridging the experiences of scholars, practitioners, and executives to co-create impactful organizational solutions.
    • Practical Excellence: Showcasing evidence-based approaches that directly address the complex realities faced by global organizations.
    • Global Relevance: Highlighting cultural and regional nuances, particularly from Latin America, as a lens for understanding broader organizational challenges.

I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to this transformative initiative and look forward to collaborating with the ODC community to shape a PDW that bridges the gap between academic rigor and practical excellence. Please feel free to contact me directly should you find my expertise valuable for the proposal.

    Warm regards,
    Dr. Denise Dziwak
