Call for Contributions - SIOP 2015 Chief Culture Officer Panel Discussion

I’d like to extend an invitation for contributions to a SIOP 2015 panel discussion on the role of the Chief Culture Officer (CCO) in organizations. In recent years we have noticed the emergence of formalized culture leaders who are responsible for managing organizational culture.

This panel will be practitioner-oriented. We are looking for contributions from members of organizations who can offer varying perspectives on the CCO role including alternative options to formalized culture role (e.g., dispersed responsibility for organizational culture).

Ideally, contributors are or have been in a CCO role or in an alternative role to CCO and would like to share their experience as part of the panel. Potential topic areas include, although are not limited to, the following:
    • Advice for others in the CCO role (what to focus on, lessons learned, etc.).
    • Whose role is it to manage culture in organizations? Who “owns” organizational culture?
    • Benefits and challenges of having/not having the CCO role.
    • Alternatives to the CCO role (formalized culture roles vs. dispersed responsibility).
    • How the CCO role is different than other specialized executive roles (e.g., Chief Safety Officer).

Please let me know if you have any questions and send your interest to me by Friday August 22nd.

    Sincerely,
    Alice Wastag, M.S.
