Dear ODC member,
Please join us for a collective inquiry on the experience of our spiritual nature in private and at work.
Informal and formal workplace spirituality, from moments of awareness to established practices PDW # 321 - Saturday August 4th 12:30 – 2:30 / Sheraton Boston Beacon E room
http://program.aomonline.org/2012/submission.asp?mode=showsession&SessionID=449
In emerging fields of research there is little semantic formalization of concepts and principles. Thus, individuals may vary in their level of comfort when advocating and promoting the rationale and managerial implications of Workplace Spirituality. Through conversations, exercises and summaries, participants will build common language and representations that will enhance their personal capabilities to communicate on the subject. The questions covered within this PDW could be expressed as follows:
· In a perspective of "informal moments of spiritual awareness," what is the variety of ways in which employees, leaders and academics personally experience spirituality in private and at work?
· How would one distinguish the effect of a personal spiritual experience at work compared to an experience of workplace spirituality?
· What differentiates the experience and the effects of informal versus formal spirituality?
· In the light of individuals' experience, what opportunities exist to establish a broader acceptance and understanding of workplace spirituality as a legitimate management field?
This conversation will be facilitated by Judi Neal, Lynne Sedgmore and Richard Major.
Warm regards,
Judi, Lynne and Richard
