Toward an Understanding of Dynamic Team Composition and its Effects
Dynamic Team Composition
Short Description:
The AOM Presenter Symposium advances team research by examining dynamic team membership and composition, particularly team composition based on MTM and changing team member roles, factors that have clear implications for team effectiveness. Our symposium consists of four empirical papers that showcase new research both to extend theory and empirically investigate dynamic team composition, using a variety of theoretical perspectives, research designs, contexts, methodologies, and analytical methods. We have designed the symposium format to provide rich opportunities to draw parallels across the four presentations, all of which share dynamic team composition as a unifying theme. At the same time, the presentations are sufficiently distinct to feature areas with significant contrasts. We hope to provide an exciting forum with new insights, findings, and suggestions to foster discussion and new research.
Discussant: Martine Haas, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
