    Assistant Professor, Organizational Leadership

    Northern Kentucky University

     

    The Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice at Northern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure track position in Organizational Leadership (OL) at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2012.  The OL program is offered completely online, while also offering face-to-face courses in order to best meet the needs of both traditional and non-traditional students.

     

    The individual best suited to fill this position would have the following qualities: (1) Ph.D. in leadership, organizational studies, psychology, business administration, management or a related field by time of appointment (Ed.D. considered); (2) Areas of specialization are open but we are particularly interested in a faculty member with research agendas and teaching interests in organizational development and change, leadership development, team building and development, organizational ethics, and/or organizational communication; and (3) Commitment to undergraduate instruction and advising, scholarship and publication, and service to the university and community.  Additional preferences include: experience and/or interest in teaching online and administrative and/or leadership experience in the private, public, or non-profit sector.  Our department is built on values that emphasize multidimensional excellence, learner-centered education, civic engagement, innovation, collegiality, and collaboration across all academic programs of the department and the university.

     

    Our faculty are actively engaged with students through undergraduate research programs; local, regional, national, and international internship placements; study abroad opportunities; and student honor societies.  Northern Kentucky University (www.nku.edu), just seven miles south of Cincinnati, OH, is a nationally recognized metropolitan university committed to active engagement with the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati region of nearly two million people.  The department is the largest department within the College of Arts & Sciences, with 31 full-time faculty members, approximately 1,600 students, and offers bachelor degrees in criminal justice, international studies, political science, organizational leadership and an accredited master degree in public administration.
