    Hi Tony,

Thanks for your interest in participating in the study!

There is not really a title or synopsis as it is more of a chat session aimed at gaining feedback on a survey I constructed for my study.  Therefore, you start by actually filling out the survey itself (which takes about 15 minutes), and afterwards everyone comes into a chat room where we discuss matters such as the interpretation of questions and how the situations in the survey might resemble everyone's management experiences.  Please let me know if you have any specific questions and I would be more than happy to answer them.  Also, I am looking to schedule a final session sometime this week, so if you still want to participate it would be helpful if I could get your availability.

    Thanks,

    Josh

    Josh,

I will be glad to help in your study by participating in the panel. My management experience spans 17 years as a middle, upper, and executive level manager in both the public and private sectors. I have led complex organizations that demanded complex decision-making that had the possibility of affecting the lives of many individuals. I also have experience as an OD consultant in organizational change, culture diagnostics, and leadership development pipelines. If this is what you are looking for, I will be glad to help.

I will need the title of the forum and a brief synopsis. Thanks.

    Greetings All,

Have an interest in contributing to and learning about the field of management and/or decision making studies?  I am a doctoral student at Claremont Graduate University, and I write to ask if you will please assist me in my thesis research by participating in an upcoming online chat session.  The one and only requirement for participation is that you have current or past experience as an organization manager in any US-based context.  You will join a small group of managers in addressing the usefulness of evidence types and sources in making common management decisions.

The current study presents an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to research that can make the way we practice management more efficient and effective.  Immediately prior to the online chat session, you will be asked to complete a survey and record your reactions to the experience.  Afterwards, you will meet in a web-based chat room with a group of managers to discuss the survey instrument in relation to your management experience and practice.  All of these steps can be completed from any location including the comfort of your own home.  To participate, you must have a computer, an updated web browser, and internet access.  This forum will provide a great opportunity to gain insight into how other managers make decisions on a regular basis and learn about the latest research on managerial decision making.

All participants will receive a $30 Amazon gift card for their time.

If you are interested in participating, please reply directly to this email.  I am looking for individuals who are available this Wednesday (2/16) from 3-4:30pm PST.  In your reply, please briefly describe your management experience.  Please do not hesitate to raise any questions or concerns about the research project.

    Thank you for your time!

    Sincerely,
