Dear Colleagues,
**My apologies for the cross-posting **
I am looking for co-contributors for two potential SIOP proposals, described briefly below. If you are interested in participating in one of these sessions, please email me with a description of your potential contribution. Finalized SIOP proposals are due to September 14th.
Symposium 1 is seeking papers that present a conceptual or empirical study demonstrating novel methods for integrating context (with a special interest in organizational culture) in the design and application of leadership development and/or coaching programs. Although several authors have described the importance of considering context when designing developmental programs, few explicit models/methods have been advanced. As an illustration, one paper in this session presents a conceptual framework for integrating leader and culture assessments using P-E fit theory within the context of a coaching program for new leaders. Scholarly or practitioner oriented submissions are welcomed.
Symposium 2 is seeking papers that present empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of executive coaching programs. Despite the widespread popularity of coaching for executives and non-executive leaders, few studies test whether coaching leads to improved leader effectiveness, or whether such effects can be established above-and-beyond other leader development programs/opportunities. Overall, this symposium will highlight empirical research testing the effectiveness of coaching or comparing coaching to other interventions with leaders. Ultimately, such research can lead to better evidence-based recommendations for the design and conduct of coaching in organizations. Empirical submissions are welcomed.
If you would be interested in contributing to either SIOP proposal, please email Levi Nieminen: LNieminen@denisonculture.com Thank you.
