Hello Charlotte: How very nice to hear from you! And thks for your updates; congrats on coming so close to CA's. I'd love to help you ... Am planning to attend Sustainability workshop in Victoria and maybe we can spend time together?
My last 2 months were hell. In sum, my mother died and I just came back from Europe where I brought her ashes to her family chapel. Am still reeling from the sadness and its consequences.
Today I am in Montreal, where I just gave a workshop at Management Conference 2010. Staying here to present my paper at AOM in early August, then flying home to Van.
When can we meet? Or, shall we do a Skype? I'm not set up in Montreal for Skype, so that would have to wait until mid August. Would love to help ...
Take good care, and congrats on your MA!
Margaret

Subject: [ODC-L] Leading with Compassion? - ODC symposium!
Dear Collegues, - we invite you to put this symposium on your Montreal
agenda and hope to see you very soon!
Leading with Compassion? A Question of Development in Changing
Organizations
Participant: Andre S. Avramchuk; Fielding Graduate U.;
Participant: Jude G. Olson; Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company;
Participant: Thierry Pauchant; HEC Montreal;
Organizer: Katrina Suzanne Rogers; Fielding Graduate U.;

This symposium deepens a grounded scholarly inquiry into compassion as a
characteristic of successful leadership in today’s changing organizations.
The cross-disciplinary panel will explore compassion as a complex human
emotion that influences behavior and change in organizations. Diverse
perspectives offered for discussion will include analyses of the current
state of the literature on compassion and its embedment in management
education, compassion as it relates to human and organization development
and coaching, environmental leadership, and the purposeful and sustainable
change to an inclusive organizational culture. Self-reflection and linking
life experiences to scholarly work will be explored in tandem with the
ethics and pitfalls of leading with compassion. Meaningful connections
with the audience will be fostered for continued research collaborations.
