Abstract
While organizational scholars and practitioners recognize the importance of change for survival and sustained competitiveness, the majority of the literature and practice of organizational change continue to approach it from a negative, problem-oriented lens, which leads to a narrow, static view of change, and a limited long term impact. This workshop will create a forum for discussing emerging academic approaches and best practices in positive, dynamic, talent-based organizational change. Examples include built-to-change organizations, appreciative inquiry as a vehicle for positive change, and talent management as a foundation for sustainable competitive advantage.
Using a panel discussion, this workshop will draw from the insights of several exceptional scholars, organizational development and change leaders and consultants, to address the present and future opportunities and challenges of dynamic positive change for organizational scholarship and practice. Panelists include two outstanding scholars: Chris Worley (built-to-change organizations and talent-based competitive advantage) and Ronald Fry (appreciative inquiry, group dynamics, multi-stakeholder strategic planning); and two exceptional scholar-practitioners: Arthur Jue (Oracle) and Ilene Wasserman (ICW Consulting). These panelists are all heavily involved in the research, practice and teaching of positive, dynamic, talent-based organizational change, making them excellent candidates for this PDW as it attempts to build and expand on a viable scholar-practitioner model.
Hope to see you there. No pre-registration is required.
