Dear Colleagues, - if you still wonder what to do on that Sunday
afternoon, this is a great all-Academy theme symposium with cutting-edge
research on compassion! This is a "must-be-there" event for those of us
interested in high-quality research that's relevant in practice. Hope to
see you there!
Compassion Research Incubator: Emerging Perspectives on the Scholarship
and Practice of Compassion
Organizer: Jason Kanov; Western Washington U.;
Organizer: Jacoba Lilius; Queen's U. Canada;
The purpose of this symposium is to open up new possibilities for
researchers and practitioners interested in compassion. The symposium is
called an incubator because of the way it uses cutting-edge research to
stimulate interactive discussions and generate new ideas. All six
presenters, each of whom looks at a different aspect of compassion in
organizations, understand that their role in this symposium is first and
foremost to start a conversation with the audience. Although they will
each present a taste of their work in progress, the vision for this
symposium is that everyone involved—the organizers, the presenters, and
the audience—will leave the room with some answers as well as some
promising new questions and potential collaborations.
